Our son had a difficult start to life and we were dealing with Michele for
a variety of speech, language and fluency related concerns. Michele was
absolutely wonderful. She is very adept at identifying and working with
the issues and circumstances surrounding his case. Michele has a naturally
comforting and soothing way to keep our active and curious son engaged and
interested in his sessions. Michele uses a number of auditory, visual and
tactile stimulations to encourage learning and reinforce concepts. By
utilizing different modalities of learning and incorporating multiple
levels of technology from wooden blocks to video conferencing, Michele has
managed to keep our sessions fun, playful and educational. Our son looks
forward to working with Michele who he often refers to as his "word
doctor", and has become one of his favorite activities. Dr. R.M.H.

I had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease four months prior to seeking Speech Therapy.
Before undertaking therapy, my voice volume and clarity were deteriorating to the point where many people were having difficulty understanding me. I found myself withdrawing from group conversations, and had stopped trying to talk to my husband while we were driving in the car. I also experienced constant clearing of my throat. After contacting Michele Moffat, Speech Language Pathologist, I undertook the Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) program under her direction. In addition to taking the therapy sessions, I purchased the Home Companion Software Program to assist in the home practice sessions. I found the program to be very intensive and required many hours of practice over the four week schedule prescribed by the program. However, the results soon began to show as my friends and family remarked on the improvements in my voice loudness and clarity. Most of my throat clearing problem disappeared as well. Since my therapy, I find I speak in groups with more confidence and don't struggle to be heard. I find it necessary to continue with the recommended exercises to maintain the improvements I achieved from the program.
Working with Michele was a great experience. Her positive and supportive personality was a great motivator for me. Her knowledge and professionalism were assuring to me during my sessions with her. Michele now stays in touch and monitors my ongoing progress.

Our daughter is 10 years old and has Down syndrome. She is non-verbal but
very expressive. We are very lucky to have met Michele. Provincially-
funded SLP services are spotty at best. Michele is dynamic and fun. Our
daughter looks forward to seeing her for appointments. Also, Michele is
not intimidated by the latest technology and is a wealth of information.

Michele Moffat is an excellent speech therapist, who my son has greatly benefitted from
working with. His challenge with stuttering has decreased significantly over the past several
months as a result of her support. Her ability to relate to a teen-age boy has made all the
difference. She is well informed and up to date with a variety of instructional strategies. She is
pleasant, positive and supportive, focusing on all signs of progress. Her energy and enthusiasm
are contagious! I highly recommend Michele to anyone needing support with their speech. She
has had a hugely positive influence on our son, and family. E.D |

Hi, I go to see Michele Moffat because I don't say my R's correctly. But now I'm doing a lot better! Before, I sometimes got teased (kids in grade
5 can be……mean), but Michele makes me a lot more confident about the way I speak. She makes it fun and interesting! I like when she explains to me
what is going on in my mouth. For example she tells me where my tongue is and where it is supposed to be. Over all I enjoy being there!

This child is diagnosed with Autism: My son has worked with several speeches language pathologists with mixed results. Michele has an intuitive ability to be able to connect and maintain a relationship that is built on a foundation of mutual respect and genuine desire to help him grow and develop. She recognizes that his speech challenges are more than how he pronounces words and that it affects his social and communication experiences. Because of this she has a holistic approach to the Speech Therapy sessions that incorporate his unique learning, social and communication needs and she is able to foster his growth and development in concrete, measurable outcomes. Michele is current in the latest research and technologies utilizing not just games, play based learning, but also technology like I pads. My son is excited each week to visit Michele and asks to see her regularly! In less than a year I have seen great developments in his speech, language and social/communication and his teachers and other family have also noticed the changes. Most importantly Michele has a genuine desire to work with my son and support my husband and me as we support our son. We are grateful to be able to work with Michele as she is a perfect fit for our needs and our son's!
