I offer speech and language assessment and therapy along with education courses and workshops designed to meet your specific needs.
Speaking and listening skills are directly connected to our ability to read and write.
Speech-Language Pathologists are skilled at examining both communication input, (reading and listening), and communication output, (writing and speaking).
Relationships are based in communication and so it follows that experiencing problems in any area of communication can create challenges in relationships. Children may be teased by their peers because they sound different than others.
Specialized testing with your Speech-Language Pathologist will help determine the source of the issue and the type of support required.
Perhaps the difficulty stems from a neurological difference. If so, a very different approach to treatment may be required.
Some challenges, such as pronouncing speech sounds, can be totally fixed. Other difficulties may be more serious and require a complex combination of therapy and adaptations to achieve the best result.
If you or your child are experiencing difficulties with communication, I encourage you to contact a Speech-Language Pathologist. I wish you every success. |
