Hello and welcome to Speech Strength,
I'm Michele Moffat and I am here to welcome you to my website. Speech Strength: "Communication for a Lifetime" is a small but important reflection of my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist. I have designed this site to introduce myself and my work. I believe if you are to seek support, you need to know who you are talking to. It is my desire here to show you something about myself, my professional skills and my interests.
Over my greater than 20 years in practice I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and interests. We each bring a variety of cultural, educational, spiritual and emotional experience into our daily communications with others. My life is enriched each day as a result of the relationships I build through my work. I am passionate about people and about the processes of learning and healing. I believe they go hand in hand.
I have learned that many people don't understand with a Speech-Language Pathologist does. Often, until you find yourself in a situation where you are in need of support, you may not have given any thought at all to the complex set of skills related to communication.
Essentially, a Speech-Language Pathologist is a brain scientist. We are educated and experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad variety of communication challenges. As with any practice, there are some areas we know very well. These areas are not the same for each practicing S-LP. My areas of specialization are listed for your information.
